Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Featured in a Special Report by Xinhua Daily

In the Industrial Park of Zhenze Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou, the old Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure factory is bustling with activity as over 60 mobile, bulletproof special containers are being packed and shipped to Iraq. In the new workshop, workers are working overtime a few kilometers away to produce a batch of fire-fighting containers.


The prefabricated building industry in Zhenze Town has more than 40 years of history. In just six years, Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure, through continuous technological innovation and industrial upgrading, has evolved from producing residential containers, color steel sandwich panels, and mobile homes to developing and manufacturing high-end special containers, becoming a new benchmark in the prefabricated building industry in Zhenze. Over the past six years, our products have been exported to more than 50 countries overseas, and we have been awarded the titles of "Jiangsu Province Specialized and Sophisticated Small and Medium-sized Enterprise", "Suzhou Gazelle Enterprise", and "High-tech Enterprise", among other accolades.

In the office of General Manager Ms. Chen Xia, a world map hangs on the wall. Whenever a new country is added to the sales network, she pins a flag on the corresponding country on the map. She proudly states, "The sales network of Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure covers the seven continents and five oceans."


Six years ago, when Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure was starting, the prefabricated building industry in Zhenze was experiencing a harsh winter. Common problems in the industry included small enterprise scale, extensive production methods, and outdated technology. Additionally, the comprehensive implementation of the "Three Treatments" (treating violations, pollution, and hidden dangers) in Wujiang District meant that we had to seek transformation and upgrading at the very beginning of our entrepreneurial journey.


To address these challenges, we expanded our scale and built high-standard factories. Within just four years, the company constructed three factory buildings with a total area of nearly 30,000 square meters. It established a container production line that can complete the entire process from cutting to powder coating in one go, doubling our production capacity. During the pandemic, we produced a large number of containers to support the country. During the Qatar World Cup, 2,000 "China Red" themed container houses for the "Fan Village" also made an appearance on the World Cup stage, showcasing the strength of Suzhou manufacturing.


Product innovation also relies on cutting-edge talent. "Containers and Internet+ are very similar, as they can be integrated with many things. Therefore, the needs of each customer will be vastly different. Only by having rich work experience and seeing more can we naturally produce containers of various types," explained Technical Director Mr. Li Jindong. The company has over a dozen experienced R&D engineers and over 50 veteran workers in the special container workshop, all with over 10 years of industry experience.


From a breakthrough in quantity to a leap in quality. After six years of deep cultivation, Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure has an annual production capacity of 15,000 standard container houses and 3,000 special containers. High-end special containers are also becoming increasingly popular in the market. The company's export business accounts for 75% of its total performance, making it a well-known brand in the prefabricated building industry in Suzhou.

Looking to the future, Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure always has more ambitious goals: "We want to set up Zhongnan's own distribution offices around the world so that Zhongnan's manufacturing can be found everywhere, and the name of Wujiang Zhenze can be heard worldwide."
