In September 2025, ZN House once again proved its strength by partnering with the largest prefabricated housing and steel structures construction company in Taiwan to produce high-quality flat-pack container houses for residential, office, and rental use throughout Taiwan. The project started with a first batch of 133 sets and then an additional 100 units, all of which were produced by ZN House as the contract manufacturer. The Taiwanese client was responsible for the on-site assembly, and thus, he could fully trust ZN House for precision production, structural optimization, and packaging solutions.

Project Background and Cooperation Model

The Taiwanese client owns and operates their processing plant. However, due to the continuous increase in project volume, the client's own processing plant is no longer able to meet the required production capacity. Accordingly, they chose ZN House as their contract manufacturing partner, thus benefiting from our well-established production lines and export experience.

Different purposes accounted for the use of the container houses produced by ZN House Engineered:

• Worker dormitories
• Temporary site offices
• Rental properties with a modular reconfiguration requirement

The rental buildings were given the freedom to change the wall panels, doors, and windows, unlike the standard modular housing projects. This called for very close collaboration between ZN House and the client's technical team from the early stages of the structural design.

Flat Pack Container Design by ZN House

A flat pack container house is a very clever solution to build quickly and at the same time save a lot of money. It is delivered in a flat and small package; thus, it is very easy to ship, and the cost is very low. ZN House, as a manufacturer, combines factory-prefabricated structural components with highly precise modular connection systems to reduce shipping volume, speed up the on-site installation, and lower labour costs without compromising the structural reliability. Besides, the modular design makes it possible to extend easily and even change the layout later, which is very helpful when the building is meant to be rented or used temporarily. In terms of logistics efficiency, one 40HQ container can load seven sets of packaged flat pack units, greatly optimizing international transport and overall project cost control.

Structural Strength and Environmental Adaptability

Because these units would accommodate and be workplaces for dozens to hundreds of occupants for a long period, ZN House decided to produce the containers with reinforced structural systems.

The containers are equipped with:

1. Fully welded top and bottom frame, finished at the factory
2. Upgraded load-bearing bottom beams and central columns
3. Wind resistance up to Level 8
4. Earthquake resistance up to Level 8

ZN House's full-welded roof system, one of the main perks of the company's manufacturing process, has greatly improved waterproof performance and overall firmness compared to semi-welded systems, which are often seen in the market.

High-Density Insulation for Long-Term Comfort

For the Taiwan project, ZN House supplied custom wall panels of 50mm thickness made by sandwiching a high-density rock wool core of 100 kg/m between double-sided 0.4mm steel sheets (0.4/0.4). The combination of components used here is one step above the standard specifications in the market and was chosen to satisfy the client's requirements for a long-lasting residential and office environment. The increased density contributes a lot to the thermal insulation aspect. In addition to the abovementioned improvements, the higher rock wool density enhances soundproofing, makes the product more fire-resistant, and therefore, allows the use of less HVAC energy, which is very helpful in the humid and warm climate of Taiwan.

All container houses made by ZN House for this project are in line with CE requirements, which means that they also have the safety and quality assurance that would allow them to be exported to other countries as well. According to the European Commission, "The CE marking signifies that a construction product complies with the performance declared by the manufacturer and meets the safety requirements laid down in the relevant European Union legislation."

Besides the above-mentioned qualities, high-density rock wool or mineral wool insulation is also widely accepted as being good for fire performance. Rock wool insulation ensures a high degree of fire resistance and thermal stability in the case of a fire within the building application.

Customization and Engineering Collaboration

The technically most complicated part of the collaboration was providing wall panels that are easily replaceable and openings allowing rental flexibility.

ZN House assisted the client by:

• Very detailed drawing verification before placing the order
• Strengthened connection node design
• Manual production of high-density rock wool panels
• Customized folding elements and structural strengthening

This great degree of engineering coordination reveals ZN Houses ability to render services beyond the standard mass production.

Production and Packaging Optimization

Some of the components, like bottom beams, central columns, etc., which make up half of the total structure by weight, are customized rental structures. So, a fine quality control, strictly under an outsourcing collaboration, was required in these cases.

Packaging was another issue. The client had no labour to unpack individual components onsite. So, ZN House did packaging optimization through:

• Fully palletizing the materials
• Reinforcing window protection
• Keeping on updating packing ways to minimize breakage

Such service improvements were really crucial as the Taiwanese market is very demanding in terms of packaging standards and delivery schedules being well-timed.

Installation Efficiency and Operational Benefits

The flatpack container homes that ZN House fabricated are primarily focused on making their installation at the site as quick and practical as possible. Basically, every one of their units is so well-thought-out that just two people can set it up in no more than a day at most, without the help of heavy machinery or complicated tools. Besides making it easier for fewer workers to handle the job, this approach also leads to lower expenses, smaller footprint needs, and thus fewer disruptions caused at the construction site.

Consequently, the duration of a project can be drastically decreased, facilitating more rapid handover and quicker occupancy.
